This ultra-passive cooling system operates solely with standard ice or ice packs. The double walled, cavity insulated cool box can keep ice cold for up to 12 days without needing a compressor or absorber! The interior of the 50 litre version is designed to accommodate a crate of beer, and it’s also ideal for storing vegetables, meat, or freshly caught fish.

The Petromax cool box features an insulation layer of at least 45 mm, ensuring maximum temperature stability when used outdoors. The robust PE body is so durable that the box can be easily used as a raised seat or standing platform. With its clear-edged design, the cool box is also simple to stack and store in a hold or below deck. The integrated drainage system makes it easy to replenish ice and clean the cool box afterwards. You can drain any melted ice at any time during use, allowing you to extend the cooling time as needed.

In addition to its exceptional temperature stability, the Petromax cool box features recesses on the lid, allowing you to secure it with crosswise lashing for safe transportation. The ergonomic carrying handles on the sides also function as belt guides, enabling you to open the box while it’s securely fastened. The non-slip rubber latches can be operated with one hand, providing a firm grip even when your fingers are wet. Reinforced locking plates, when used with a standard shackle lock, protect your provisions from wild animals. The four rubber feet on the bottom ensure a stable position and promote additional air circulation from below.

Correct use of the cool box:

• Do not use with dry ice
• Cool down the cool box in a cold room or with ice before use
• Only fill with pre-cooled drinks and food
• Ideally use large blocks of ice in one piece
• Always place ice packs or ice on top, as the cold sinks to the bottom
• Open deliberately and sparingly
• Keep the box in a cool, shady place when traveling and avoid direct sunlight
• Store and transport upright, it is best to strap it down during transportation
