Did you know? Most of the ‘wasabi’ eaten outside of Japan is actually a mixture of horseradish, mustard and green food colouring. The real deal is much rarer.
The Wasabi Company is the UK’s only growers of fresh wasabi, growing their plants in mineral-rich water on their farms in Dorset and Hampshire. The prized rhizomes take at least 18 months to reach harvest – so their stock is subject to seasonal availability.
