These aren’t just any wood chunks. Our Olive BBQ Smoking Chunks are cut from the pruned branches and trunks of ancient Spanish olive trees — some of the oldest and most storied trees in the Mediterranean landscape, cultivated for thousands of years across the sun-baked hillsides of Spain. Sourced directly from Spain and dried to the perfect moisture level for smoking, each chunk carries with it an earthy intensity and herbal complexity that ordinary hardwood simply cannot replicate.

When placed on hot coals or inside a smoker, Olive Wood Chunks release a slow, steady smoke with a distinctive earthy warmth, subtle herbal notes, and a rich Mediterranean character that is entirely natural to the wood. The result is a bold yet elegant smoke flavour that elevates everything from slow-roasted lamb shoulder to whole grilled sea bream and beyond.

How to use

Olive Wood Chunks are designed to be used as smoking chunks — not chips. Their larger size means they burn more slowly, giving you a sustained smoke over a longer cook. They work brilliantly on all BBQ setups including offset smokers, kamado grills (such as Big Green Egg or Kamado Joe), kettle grills, and pellet-fed smokers with a chunk box.

No soaking required. Dry chunks produce cleaner, more consistent smoke than wet ones. Simply place 2–3 chunks directly onto lit charcoal or your heat source before closing the lid and cooking low and slow.
